Damn right I'm smug


I just can't help myself. This was my gas mileage recently, after a trip to Salem and back (about 90 miles round trip)

    Toyota Prius (the 4 door, not the original smaller 2 door). Yes, very roomy - I used to fit my carpool (medium and tall adults) in for the trek to salem. Good sized trunk too.

    oh, the Prius. I was drooling over some today when I was out -- by myself -- !!!!!!!! -- shopping at Anthropologie/West Elm/Powell's. There were the gazillion gratuitious drive-bys of Prius owners, and since I was parked next to PF Chang's, and kept stopping off at the car to drop packages into it, I couldn't help noticing all those shiny, shiny beauties.

    I'm thinking about going with a VW diesel for the next car, b/c somewhere in this town there's biodiesel on sale for the masses (and not just pub. transport. vehicles, which still thrills me to no end).

    did I mention how lucky you are to have a Prius? I'm so. darned. green.

    lildb: You can checkout out SeQuential for current locations of stations that sell biodiesel. Jay's at 7th and SE Morrison is pretty central.

    oh, sweeeet. that's a helpful link. I often try to recall stuff like that when I listen to the morning show guy on Air America - Tom something or other? Whatever. He often brings guests on that talk about local green issues and they refer me to sites that I repeat to myself until I can't remember why my mouth is moving anymore. sad.

    Will the car shorten the commute time? I do the trek three times a week and I *hate* it! I'm so envious of your gas mileage though.
