The End is Nigh

(or, further signs of the apocalypse)

My mother just sent me an email saying she'd signed up for facebook.

She has not yet requested to be my friend. I imagine eventually she will figure out how to do that.

  1. My mother is on Facebook, too. And she friended me. And at least one of my friends. Does that mean Facebook has jumped the shark?

  2. My mom added me the other day. I thought the same thing.

  3. With respect can't we get the retired persons congress - or whatever they're called -- convinced they need to write their own social networking software. Call it Computerbook.

Please. I am safe from most by my MIL is lurking. Christ she has her own YouTube channel.

Do you know how that happened? I gave her a crappy used iMac of mine and built her a shop on etsy. Stupid me!

  4. I signed my mother up for facebook, but she probably has not logged in since...it's my MIL who I worry about now that she joined FB and friended me. I have to watch what I put in my status updates now...!

  5. My MIL just joined up, causing me the same fright. My husband, dear that he is, has forbidden me however from friending her, claiming that weekly+ phone calls are enough contact. So she's languishing in my list...

  6. I banned my mother on Facebook. I love her dearly and I appreciate how very very present she is on my blog but I drew the line at Facebook. Facebook is all mine!
